as usual, when I watch movies from Islamic countries, which, for some time became rather frequent, my first impulse is to kiss the Romanian soil, where, for better or worse, the leash is a bit longer and lighter, at least for women.

the poor priest with his “beast” was denigrated for nothing, because this condition is still valid for women in Islamic countries.

after my stomach cringe eases a bit, I can also think at other aspects, as, in case of Beauty and the dogs movie, THE COURAGE of the main character, a young woman.

the movie is based on true facts, a young woman, raped by two police officers, must find justice in the very same night of the crime, exactly to the people from this institution and more, exactly at the precinct where the two are working.

what she has to confront? well, once, the typical attitude towards women, of the Islamic men, and then, the typical attitude of the position, applicable in all countries this time, power abuse, evidence and testimonies manipulation, victim and witnesses intimidation; what people will do for a simple paycheck? and yet, the sincere and honest ones, can understood whom they really serve and can choose morality, ethics, in exchange of a false financial security.

we have another typical aspect, too, with the specific context noticed here and in the movies from the images, guess who was merciless and cruel with the girl, no other than another woman, which, even if she was a police officer, she also was a woman in an Islamic country and for sure knew and lived the bitterness and torment of the life there.

as in the past, the guardians of the plantations slaves, who were also slaves, were treating their brothers worse than the slave owners, the same with the Islamic women, they treat worse than the men their sisters, maybe younger, more vulnerable women, or it’s just the fact that sometimes they get to grab a bit of a power…

I was sure that it won’t be a happy ending, that she won’t make it alive, and yet…she didn’t give up and the two were finally convicted at 15 years, after some years from the crime.

I honestly don’t know how those movies are done in those countries, how they pass the censorship and can be showed to the world, because out there it is another planet, a planet of horror, tyranny and abuse, for women.

however, besides anger, shudder, sadness, empathy, compassion, ultimate awareness of the “civilized” society madness,

THE COURAGE of this girl impressed me, inspired me, amazed me and warmed my heart.

this kind of people still exists and they are ordinary people, not samurai or SEAL teams, heavy trained, both physical and mental, for extreme situations;

people that wouldn’t think about themselves that they can be heroes, that they can confront this kind of situation, risk their lives or to be ostracized by society and family.

ca de obicei, cand vad filme artistice din tarile islamice, care, de ceva vreme au devenit destul de frecvente, primul meu impuls este sa pup pamanciorul Romanicai, unde, de bine de rau, lesa este ceva mai lunga si mai lejera, cel putin pentru femei.

degeaba a fost ponegrit bietul popa cu “lighioana”, acest status este inca valabil pentru femeile din tarile islamice; 

dupa ce mi se mai decontractᾰ stomacul, ma pot gandi si la alte aspecte, cum ar fi, in cazul filmului Tunisian Frumoasa si cainii, la CURAJUL eroinei principale;

filmul este bazat pe un caz real, o tanara femeie, violata de doi politisti, trebuie sa isi caute dreptatea fix la cei din aceasta institutie, ba mai mult, fix la sectia unde cei doi lucreaza.

ce are de infruntat? odata, atitudinea clasica a barbatilor religiei islamice fata de femei, apoi, atitudinea clasica a functiei, valabila pentru toate tarile, de data asta, abuz de putere, manipularea dovezilor, a marturiilor, intimidarea victimei si a martorilor; ce nu face omul pentru un salariu, nu? si totusi, cei inca sincer si onesti pot intelege pe cine servesc cu adevarat si pot alege morala, etica, in schimbul unei false sigurante financiare.

si mai avem un aspect clasic, cu specificul de rigoare, observat aici si in celelalte filme mentionate, cine s-a purtat cu o cruzime de neinteles cu eroina noastra, nimeni alta decat o femeie, care, chiar daca era politista, era femeie intr-o tara islamica si cu siguranta ca stia si traia tot amarul si chinul tuturor femeilor de acolo.

la fel cum, pe vremuri, vatafii, alesi dintre tarani, erau mai rai cu taranii decat boierii, sau pe plantatiile cu sclavi, paznicii negri erau mai rai cu semenii lor decat stapanii de sclavi, la fel si femeile musulmane, se poarta mai rau decat barbatii cu semenele lor, poate mai tinere, mai vulnerabile sau intr-un context unde au si ele de oleaca de putere…

 am fost absolut convinsa ca nu se va termina cu bine, ca nu va scapa cu viata din toata povestea, si totusi…ea nu s-a lasat, iar cei doi au fost condamnati la 15 ani de inchisoare, pana la urma, dupa ceva ani de la comiterea faptei.

nu stiu, sincer, cum pot fi facute aceste filme in tarile respective, cum trec de cenzura si pot fi aratate lumii, pentru ca este o cu totul alta planeta acolo, o planeta a groazei, tiraniei si abuzului, pentru femei.

una peste alta, pe langa furie, incrancenare, tristete, empatie, compasiune, luciditate suprema privind nebunia societatii “civilizate”,

CURAJUL acestei fete m-a impresionat, m-a inspirat, m-a uimit si mi-a incalzit inima;

deci, mai exista si astfel de oameni, si acolo unde nu te-ai astepta, si sunt oameni simpli, nu samurai si nici trupele SEAL, pregatite fizic si psihic pentru situatii extreme;

oameni care nici ei nu ar crede despre ei ca pot fi eroi, ca pot infrunta o astfel de situatie, cu riscul concret de a-si pierde viata, de a fi ostracizati de societate si familie.
